It is now just over a year since I launched my Vision Care Club, which offers you unlimited eyecare and the chance to save money on any frames and lenses that you buy. I am delighted that many of you have chosen to join it as it means that I can look after your eyes and vision as I think it should be, without any interference from the NHS regulations, and save money on your spectacles as well.

Because the club works alongside the Health Service but without the restrictions that are being imposed really gives the best of both worlds, allowing us to give you the best possible eye care.

What made me think of this now? Well, quite recently I had a Vision Care Club patient who came to see me saying that his eye was a little bit sore and didn’t feel quite right. We had used his Health Service test only a matter of a couple of months before and his symptoms were such that we were not allowed to see him again under the NHS regulations, so I would have been obliged to charge him the full private sight test fee of £68.00. However, as he was a VCC member there was no problem at all. We saw him immediately under the clubs Open Door benefit and found that there had been significant changes to the back of his eye. We were able to refer him urgently and am delighted to say that he was successfully treated at the hospital within a fortnight.

This is the difference that the Vision Care Club makes to both us and you, my patients. I benefit because I am able to run my practice as I know it should be, without external interference, and you get continuing access to high quality eyecare and healthcare, and this is on top of the savings on your spectacles, sunglasses and contact lenses.

If you are not already a member and would like to discuss the benefits please don’t hesitate to a look at the website, pop in or give us a ring. We will be delighted to give you any much information that you want.
Finally, I would like to wish you rather belated Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Best wishes.

Mark.
